Fitting to the name, Unconventional Diner offers updated takes on diner classics. However, don’t let the name fool you. The menu is interesting and the food is always on-point. We live a few blocks away so this frequently is where we end up where we don’t know where to go.

Bagels can be a contentious topic but Pearl’s is our favorite. Josh likes to order the the Sandra D and Laura likes a bagel with cream cheese and veggies. On weekend mornings the line can be long so you can save time by ordering ahead.

Neighborhood wine bar close enough to our front door to hit with a baseball. They do fun curated monthly menus with cheeky themes (“Pink Pony Month” — skin contact, “Rainy Climate Cafe“ — high humidity, “Farmers Only” — natural wines)
